Bennington Glen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center
MARENGO — Bennington Glen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center has brought personalized care to residents since 2000.
“We are a single family-owned facility,” said Chris White, Director of Marketing.
Peggy Dearth is the owner and also works on site as a nurse, White said.
The facility has capacity for 100, with 21 in assisted living and 79 on the nursing rehabilitation side.
“People come here after surgery, a cardiac event or a spell of illness,” White said. “So that side is always a revolving door for short-term stays. We also do memory care and long-term care.”
This portfolio of services is referred to as a continuing care community.
Their Web site touts “care like you’ve never seen before.” That means resident-centered care.
“Everyone who stays here isn’t used to eating at the same time or bathing at the same time, so we have a range of meal times. We also have room service for those residents who wish to stay in,” White said.
It’s that type of personalized care — as well as no corporate structure — that sets Bennington Glen apart.
“These are friends and neighbors caring for your loved ones. We never have a stranger care for your loved ones. We don’t use an agency or nursing pools,” White said.
“We are proud of our staff , many of whom have been here since we opened, and others 10 or more years.”
Bennington Glen fully licensed and certified by all federal and state agencies. A staff of professionally licensed nurses works on the premises 24 hours a day.
Staff physicians and virtually all medical support specialties are available, including physical, occupational and speech therapists, and dental, podiatry and optometry services.
